OUR MISSION & VISION
NATIONAL OTHERS WEEK IS SEVEN DAYS WHEN WE CELEBRATE THE POWER OF KINDNESS. IT IS SIMPLY ABOUT BEING KIND TO OTHERS, AND BEGINS ON THE FIRST SUNDAY OF NOVEMBER EACH YEAR.
National Others Week began nine years ago to encourage every person across Australia, and around the world, to notice the needs of others and show kindness. NOW is about focussing on seven days each year when we intentionally look for ways to be kind.
The Bible says Love is Kind. It is love made visible through good deeds and actions and whether that’s a sincere smile, a heartfelt hug or a genuine gesture – what matters is that kindness comes from the heart.
Kindness tells someone they are loved, they are valued and they matter. It has the power to lighten their burden, brighten their day, and change their life.
Being kind may seem simple and insignificant, but National Others Week has proven that kindness is powerful – we call it The Power of Kind and we have seen firsthand what kindness can do for both the giver and receiver.
Choose kindness today.

Highlands Church, Toowoomba ladies spread kindness during National Others Week down at their local supermarket. A couple of young ladies ran with an idea they had during NOW 2017, to give grocery vouchers out to families. With the support of their church life group they put this idea of kindness into action during National Others Week 2018. One of the recipients of the food vouchers was a mother with a small child. When the mother was given the voucher she burst into tears of joy, clearly touched by this unexpected act of kindness. Kindness in action, changing communities with one random act of kindness at a time.
