AS part of National Others Week (NOW), the Nowra City Church has been staging a number of events to promote kindness to others.
National Others Week, staged in the first week of November, is an international project celebrating kindness.
Global Care, Australia (inc) initiated the project to address the need in the community, to be kind to others.
Church members kicked off the week by providing free coffee at Hit and Run; Tuesday was positive post-it-note Tuesday to encourage people to be positive; on Wednesday members, along with Bluey (Global Care’s mascot), visited the children’s ward at Shoalhaven District Hospital dropping off gift packs to the sick children.
Zali Fletcher (15) from Ulladulla was one of the recipients of gift packs at the children’s ward.
Although not expecting to receive anything she said it was a “lovely idea”.
“It’s certainly nice to get something when you are sick,” she said.
The gift bags were designed to meet the patient’s specific ages.
The kindness continued on Thursday when free roses were being handed out in Junction Court, Nowra and free barbecue lunch at the church.
